Secondary Diploma Options
Three diploma options: Academic (240 credits), Honors (AP/IB), and IB Diploma.
Admission to Secondary School (Secondary I-IV)
Students must demonstrate English fluency for diploma-level work. Assessment includes NWEA MAP testing (Reading, English Language, Mathematics), a writing sample, and review of previous school records. Part of the admissions process includes discussing a potential graduation plan. Students denied admission receive a written explanation and may re-apply after 6 months.

The Secondary school follows an eight-course block schedule with four 85-minute classes alternating daily. Students have 10 minutes between classes and a 40-minute lunch. A safety netting period at the end of the day allows extra time for schoolwork. Classes run 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Teachers are available after school for academic support and activities.
The campus has 31 classrooms including an art studio, library, computer lab, drama room, music room, fitness room, and science lab. The rooftop assembly area and second-floor cafeteria serve as multi-purpose spaces. PE classes use the adjacent Shekou Sports Complex with a double gym, full-size track, and soccer pitch. Campus-wide WiFi, library open until 6:00 PM M-F, and 24-hour security.
Secondary staff includes 30 full-time, certified, experienced teachers mostly from the United States and Canada. Support includes a Director of Instruction, Academic Counselor, Librarian, Nurse, and three paraprofessionals.
The Secondary campus is a closed testing site for enrolled students only. SAT offered October, December, March, and May. ACT offered October and June. All Secondary II students take the PSAT in October. AP and IB exams are administered on campus per College Board and IBO schedules.
Students compete in ACAMIS sports: volleyball, basketball, soccer, and badminton. ACAMIS Arts and Cultural Events (ACE) include Math Challenge, MUN, chess, Knowledge Bowl, dance/music festivals, and debate. Honor societies: NHS, National English Honor Society, National Science Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta. Over 25 student clubs annually. SCIMUN — the largest MUN in Guangdong — has been student-led since 2016.
